John F. Kennedy Library provides resources and services to support the curricular and, to a lesser degree, recreational interests of students, faculty, and staff.  Community users, visitors, and other stakeholders are welcome to enjoy most library services.

Through their respective portals, Dragon Zone and Web Services, students and employees enjoy access to a more robust library website that provides services including remote database and ebook access, library account management, the submission of interlibrary loan and purchase requests, the submission of reviews for materials, and the ability to place holds on materials.

Services

Circulation Policies

  • A formal photo identification is required for checkout.
  • Check out periods vary: books 3 weeks, circulating video and audio materials 1 week, and reserves 2 hours to 1 week.
  • Periodicals and reference books are in-house use only.  Reference videos may only be checked out by HCC faculty and staff.
  • A one-time renewal per item is available by phone or in person.
  • Fines are 10 cents a day for books, 25 cents a day for audios, and 25 cents an hour for reserves.

Photocopy & Fax Services

Copies cost 10 cents a page. The cost for sending or receiving a fax is $1 per page.

Inter-Library Loan

If you cannot find material you need at JFK library, but another library carries it, you can ask for it to be sent to JFK Library through inter-library loan. This process normally takes 7 to 10 days.  There is no charge unless the lending library charges JFK Library.

Resources

In print, electronic, and other forms, JFK Library provides an array of resources to meet the curricular and, to a lesser degree, recreational needs of students, faculty, and staff.  Most of our electronic resources are remotely accessible through the Dragon Zone and Web Services portals.  We invite you to enjoy our resources in a friendly, comfortable environment.
