Why This Program?

The Hutchinson Community College Cosmetology Program offers an exceptional first experience into what working in the Cosmetology Industry is like. Students spend the first part of the program in class learning the basics of haircutting, coloring, styling and perming. From there, students' time is filled with clinic floor practice and advanced classes in covering hair, skin and nails. Advanced classes include: Men's Hair Design, Make-Up, Long Hair Design, Acrylic Nails and much more.

HutchCC Cosmetology uses the Pivot Point International curriculum, a world-wide system of educating future cosmetologists in basics and advanced skills. In the classroom students are taught by instructors with a combined 30 years' of experience. By incorporating hands on practice with every lesson student enter the clinic floor portion of the program confident in their skills. The clinic floor is a full service salon that serves a full clientele. Students are able to have the public make appointments with them and get real life practice in the field they are studying.
