High School Checklist

1 ) Application

Complete the online application for admission as soon as possible, found at: If you have taken classes with HutchCC before, you do not need to complete the application again. All students must have a signed HS Permission form for each semester, verifying eligibility for college credit.

2 ) Course Options

Talk to your counselor to discuss course options at your high school. If you are interested in taking additional HutchCC courses, please access the full schedule of HutchCC courses at

3 ) Assessments

Students must have qualifying assessment scores for all courses. Please talk with your counselor so they can help HutchCC personnel verify you have the necessary assessment scores

4 ) Enrollment

You will be enrolled as soon as assessment scores are verified. High School students cannot enroll themselves online; enrollment will be done by HutchCC office once placement scores are verified.

4 ) Confirming Your Intent

Upon enrollment, please confirm your intent through Dragon Zone by completing the following process:

  • Go to DragonZone -
  • Before you can use Dragon Zone you will need to get yor username and password by clicking the button that says 'Forgot or Change Password'. Follow the prompts under 'Forgot Password'. Enter your HutchCC ID or SSN and Date of Birth and select the Forgot Password button.
  • Your Username and Password will be sent to the e-mail address you submitted on your HutchCC application within 15 minutes. If you did not enter an e-mail address on your HutchCC application, you will need to call HutchCC Tech Support at 620-665-3524 for assistance.
  • Once you have your Username and Password, log into Dragon Zone at the top right of the page.
  • the first screen you will come to will ask you to confirm your intent. Read the screens carefully and follow the on-screen instructions. Confirming your intent locks in your course schedule and obligates you financially for your courses.
  • Keep your Username and Password in a safe place, you will need this information to access your grades, check your HutchCC email, print statement, etc.

5 ) Tuition Payment

A bill for your HutchCC course(s) will be mailed directly to your home to your attention. Please submit payment upon receipt of the bill or sign up for our FACTS payment program. A delay in payment could result in late fees being assessed to your account.

6 ) Books

Textbook information can be viewed via your DragonZone account. Textbooks may be purchased at the Newton or McPherson Centers or Campus Store in Hutchinson. Textbooks can be purchased by phone and mailed to your home for an additional shipping charge.

Step Ahead


Get a step ahead! After you graduate from High School, enroll fulltime at HutchCC for your freshmen year and we will reimburse your tuition for the courses you took from HutchCC while in High School.
